Templates for a model of the French Caudron C.714 light fighter in 1:48 scale. According to the stated contents the package carries two glazing masks, for the outer as well as the inner side of the canopy, and one national insignia mask. The shapes come from the kit by RS Model. You transfer the template with tweezers and apply the paint straight over it, as it is not a decal.

At the end of the 1930s the French Air Ministry was looking for a cheap combat machine that could be built in workshops with no experience of all-metal construction and without strategic materials. The answer was a slim single-seat fighter derived from racing aircraft, built largely of wood and powered by an engine of modest output. On paper it looked elegant; in practice it lacked both power and rate of climb and was at a clear disadvantage against the opponents of the day. It got into the fighting all the same, in the hands of the Polish pilots of one fighter group who in June 1940 over France did considerably better with it than anyone expected of such an underrated type. Just under a hundred machines were built.
Canopy framing in this scale tends to be thinner than a millimeter, and that is where a template is most often ruined. You only have to lift it out of the surrounding film with the tip of a knife, catch a narrow bridge, and the strip breaks. It helps to lift the whole block at once by the waste part and to separate what is to stay only on the part itself, or to use a damp flat wooden stick instead of a point. And if a strip does break after all, there is no point gluing it; fill the missing piece with a strip of masking tape trimmed to match the neighboring frame.
