Decals for the B-17F Spotted Cow 1:48 from HAD models. A set of three decal sheets with the markings of one particular Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models in 1:48 scale for a model of the four-engine Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress bomber. According to the name the set is divided into three separate sheets, which on a large bomber in 1:48 scale makes it possible to print the big designs with no compromise in size. The set is devoted to one particular machine nicknamed Spotted Cow. It is not a kit: you buy the model separately.
The B-17F was the version of the Flying Fortress with frameless nose glazing, a strengthened structure and a wider range of armament carried than the earlier variants. Machines of this version formed the backbone of the daylight bombing operations over Europe, and individual examples were set apart by the individual nose art and markings the crews had applied.
The base has to be smooth and glossy, as matte paint lifts the film and the edges silver. Cut the design out close to the printing, dip it in lukewarm water and wait until it begins to slide freely on the backing. Settle the large designs on an area dampened beforehand with water and softener, and press the water out with a soft cloth from the center outwards, so that no bubbles are left under the film. Finally seal the model with matte varnish, which unifies the sheen and sinks the decals into the surface to the eye.
The package holds the decal sheets only. The model, paints, glue and varnishes are not included.
