A decal sheet from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models in 1:48 scale for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 fighter. According to the name it holds three camouflage schemes, so one package will mark several different machines. It is neither a kit nor a finished model: it is an accessory in its own right for a model built from a separately sold set.
The G-6 was the most numerously built version of the Bf 109. Its recognition feature is the bulged fairings over the breeches of the synchronized guns ahead of the cockpit, by which modelers tell it apart from the earlier variants of the G family. The aircraft was powered by an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine of the 605 series, and the machines were built in many production blocks which differed in equipment, in the shape of the canopy and in the form of the tail surfaces. For a modeler that means it is worth comparing the chosen scheme with the shape of the particular model.
A smooth gloss base is the foundation: once the camouflage is finished, spray the model with gloss clear coat, otherwise silvery microbubbles will appear under the film. Cut the design out as close to the printing as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it begins to slide freely. A decal softener draws the film onto the engraved lines and onto the fabric surfaces of the control surfaces. Once dry, seal everything with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the surface you want.
