This is a separate decal set in 1:48 scale, not a kit. The set is intended for a model of the single-seat carrier-borne F/A-18E Super Hornet and brings the markings of the American naval squadron VFA-81 Sunliners. The contents of the package are not stated here.
The F/A-18E Super Hornet is the single-seat version of the multirole carrier-borne aircraft that followed on from the earlier machines of the Hornet line. Compared with them it has a larger airframe and wing area, a more powerful powerplant and characteristic angular air intakes. As a carrier aircraft it is equipped with folding wings, strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook for landing on a carrier. Squadron VFA-81, nicknamed the Sunliners, is a unit of US naval aviation; in the more recent era it operates precisely on single-seat Super Hornets.
Always apply the decals onto a smooth glossy base, ideally onto a layer of gloss clear over the finished paintwork. Cut the sheet motif by motif, soak each one in warm water only briefly and slide the decal off the backing paper onto the dampened spot. On busy surfaces, panel lines and rivets a decal softener helps, pulling the motif down to the surface. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residue off with lukewarm water and spray the whole model with a matte or semi-matte clear coat, so that the glossy edges of the decals disappear.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and clear coats are not included.
