1:48 F/A-18E Super Hornet BE is a 3D textured instrument panel and cockpit accessories on decal paper in 1:48 scale. It is applied as a decal, not as a glued part. The sheet is intended for the Revell kit.

A cockpit accessory for a plastic model, not an aircraft kit. The color print with relief texture sits on decal paper and transfers like an ordinary decal: soak it off in lukewarm water, slide it onto the part, line it up and settle it with a decal softener. It replaces the bare plastic panel that the kit supplies as a flat part with engraving. The sheet is prepared for the parts of the Revell kit.
Here the main difference from older machines is fundamental: the F/A-18E has a display cockpit. Classic round gauges have given way to screens and remain only as standby instruments somewhere at the edge of the panel. Most of the area in front of the pilot is made up of several large displays and above them a head-up display. For the modeler that means a completely different task from an analog cockpit: the decal is not here to reproduce needles and scales but screens with their symbology, their bezels and the rows of buttons around the edge. Painting that with a brush in 1:48 is practically impossible, so a print is the only sensible route. Long side consoles with densely fitted panels also run around the seat.
The Super Hornet has a large one-piece canopy with a minimum of framing and excellent clarity, so once it is closed the whole space stays visible including both consoles and the seat belts. Of all the cockpits in this range it is one of those where an unfinished interior gives itself away fastest. Before closing the cockpit up, polish the clear part and give it a light polish with varnish, so that the displays underneath do not go dull.
The set is an accessory for the build, not a kit. The model, glue, paints and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check before ordering that the set corresponds to your particular kit and version of the cockpit.
