Masks for spraying the wheel bays of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the A-6 to A-9 and F-8 versions, scale 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was one of the most widespread German fighters of the Second World War. The set aims at the A-6, A-7, A-8 and A-9 versions and at the F-8 attack version, that is, at the group of machines whose wheel bays are arranged identically. On a finished model the bay is a small but conspicuous place: it lies in the line of sight from below, and an inaccurately sprayed edge is visible at first glance.
This is a set of masks for spraying wheel bays in 1:48 scale. The masks cover the opening of the bay when you spray the surrounding area, or they let you spray the inside of the bay in a different shade from the skin of the wing. The number of pieces, their layout on the sheet and the material they are cut from are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto a dry, clean and degreased surface. Press the edges down carefully so that no paint runs under them. Spray in several light coats and lead the stream perpendicular to the surface, not at an acute angle to the edge of the mask. Lift the mask off shortly after the paint has dried: the longer it stays on the model, the harder it is to peel and the more likely it is to take the layer beneath it with it.
It will be appreciated by modelers who build the Fw 190 with open wheel bays and do not want to fine-tune the boundaries of the shades with a brush. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Which specific kit the masks are cut for should be checked in the manufacturer's data sheet.
