A resin figure of a German fighter pilot from the late part of the Second World War in 1:48 scale from Aerobonus (the Aires range). The figure is prepared for a late version of the single-seat fighter; it is an accessory to be painted and set into a cockpit or a scene, not a stand-alone airplane model.
The figure represents a Luftwaffe fighter pilot of the final war years, roughly 1943 to 1945, when the late versions of the German single-seat fighter were flying. It captures the period gear — a flying helmet, an oxygen mask, a life vest and a flight suit, as German fighter pilots wore them at the end of the war. He fills the cockpit faithfully and moves the model forward in both scale and period terms.
Resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash off the mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, and protect your airways when sanding. Apply a primer before painting, lay the colors on in thin coats and bring out the details with a wash. The head and arms are usually separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
