A figure of a German pilot of the Second World War period, dressed in flight equipment and in a life jacket, in 1:48 scale. The jacket was part of the equipment everywhere flying took place over the sea, that is over the English Channel, the North Sea and the Mediterranean. The figure is supplied unpainted.
A figure is the simplest way to give a model a sense of scale. Only beside a person can you tell how large the machine really was, and the finished model stops being a shape on a base. The pilot comes into his own in the cockpit, on the wing while climbing in and beside the machine in a scene where a return from a flight is just being reported.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and gently sand the remainder, so that the definition of the folds is not lost. Choose the way you glue it according to the material of the parts and the manufacturer's instructions; cyanoacrylate glue will join even parts on which plastic cement has no effect. Before painting, wash and degrease the figure and apply a base coat, on which the shades will then hold. Build the face up in layers from a darker tone to a lighter one and leave shadow in the eye sockets, otherwise the face will go flat in this scale. Set the jacket apart in color from the flight suit and bring out the folds with a dark wash and a dry brush along the edges.
The aircraft model, a base, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
