1:48 Hurricane Mk.I - a set of painting masks is a painting accessory to a kit you have already bought, not a model. The Montex templates are die-cut according to the parts of particular Airfix models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of die-cut painting masks for a model of the fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.I in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a part of a model but an aid for painting. The abbreviations at the end of the product name refer to the kits the shapes of the templates are cut for; the set is therefore usable for precisely those.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter with a fuselage framework of steel tubes and machine gun armament in the wing. Production ran in several renderings, which differed in the covering of the wing, in the propeller and in the exhausts, and the models of various makers therefore capture slightly different machines. That is also the reason why masking sets tend to be tied to a particular kit.
Before you start painting, lay a few key templates dry onto the clear part and check whether they correspond to the frames exactly. If a deviation of the order of a tenth of a millimeter appears, align the mask by the inner edge of the frame, that is toward the glazing; an overlap over the frame will be lost under the coat of paint, whereas an exposed strip of glass beside the frame shows. On pieces where the shape clearly does not fit, rather use the template as a cutting pattern and cut the matching piece from ordinary masking tape. Before sticking them on, check that the part is free of fingerprints and dust, and once the masks are off inspect the edges against the light, so that you discover any small runs before you varnish the model.
The set of masks is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
