Eduard LööKplus 1:48 Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik is a combined set of resin accessories, not a kit. It raises the standard of detail of the cockpit and of other areas of a model in 1:48 scale.

This is not a model of the aircraft but a package of accessories from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The LööKplus range is built on the LööK set, that is on a resin instrument panel with a color print and a resin seat with molded belts, and adds further resin parts from Eduard's own output to it in a single package. The aim is for a modeler to cover, with one purchase, the areas of a model where the difference between the plastic from a kit and resin is greatest to the eye. The composition of this package is given in the list on the box.
The Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik was a Soviet single-engine ground-attack aircraft from the period of the Second World War. Its fundamental design feature was the armored shell that formed the load-bearing part of the forward fuselage and at the same time protected the engine, the radiators, the fuel tank and the pilot. It was built first in a single-seat form and later in a two-seat one with a rear gunner. The armament consisted of cannon and machine guns in the wing, supplemented by bombs and unguided rockets on external mountings. It was one of the most numerously built combat aircraft in history.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with a detergent because of remnants of release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, sand the cut and protect your airways while sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate; on surfaces with greater demands use the gel variant. Apply a primer before painting. Do not clear-coat the instrument panel with its printed dials; just touch it with gloss varnish at the end, spot by spot, so that the dials look glazed. Finish and weather the cockpit before the fuselage halves are glued together, as there is no access to it afterwards. Try dry-fitting the set first, because resin inserts often call for the walls of the plastic parts to be thinned.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit and is not a stand-alone model. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
