This item is an add-on resin set of external stores, not a kit of an aircraft. It contains a missile of the Kh-25 family in the MR variant together with the APU-68 launch rail, that is the launcher on which the missile was carried. The name gives four pieces. A resin casting holds the shape of the body and the fins more exactly than injection-molded plastic and has no mold seam along its whole length, so the lengthy cleaning up falls away.
The Kh-25 is a family of Soviet short-range tactical guided missiles that arose in several variants differing in their guidance, which can be told apart only by the letters in the designation. The MR variant works with radio command guidance. The missiles were hung on the universal APU-68 launcher, which formed the interface between the pylon of the aircraft and the missile itself. The combination of missile and launch rail matters for the right look of the external stores, because it sits in a clearly given position and at a given distance from the pylon.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and cut the casting blocks off with a saw, not by breaking them. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with superglue; cement for plastic has no effect. Apply a primer before painting, because resin holds paint worse without it. Keep an eye on the thin fins and probes while handling them, as they break off easily. Paint the stores separately and seat them on the aircraft only after it has been clear coated; you will get cleaner transitions that way.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
