Hauler 1:48 LINDEN foliage is a scenic accessory for a diorama: a set of foliage shaped after a linden leaf, intended for building trees, bushes and vegetation in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit nor a part of a vehicle but scenic material for building dioramas and display vignettes. The leaves have the outline of a linden leaf scaled down to 1:48, that is to the proportion that suits the figures and hardware of this scale. They can be used on the armature of a tree, on a bush, on a hedge and as fallen leaves spread over the ground.
The credibility of a tree in a diorama does not rest on the shape of the trunk but on the leaf. Ground foam sponge has a coarse structure and from close up or in a macro photograph it falls apart into a shapeless green blotch. A cut-out leaf, by contrast, has a sharp outline and the right silhouette, so that even a low bush reads to the eye as a woody plant. The difference shows most where the greenery adjoins hardware and the viewer has a cue to scale right beside it.
It is practical to paint the foliage before gluing it on, best by spraying from both sides. Mix several shades of green, so that the crown is not uniform, and darken part of the leaves into a brownish green, as in nature part of the foliage is always in shade and part on the way to drying out. Prepare the armature of the tree from twisted wires or from a dried root, fill the surface with putty and let it dry properly. The leaves are then glued on in small tufts with PVA glue or thin cyanoacrylate; work with tweezers and proceed from the lower branches upward, so that you do not crush the finished areas. At the end dust the crown lightly with the same pigment you have on the terrain, as that unifies the greenery with the scene.
Paints, glue and the armature of the tree are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
