A resin kit from the Czech manufacturer Plus Model in 1:48 scale for experienced modelers. It captures the M998, the basic cargo and transport version of the legendary American HMMWV vehicle, known as the Humvee. In 1:48 scale it is a welcome chance to complete modern aircraft dioramas with matching ground equipment.
The HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) was introduced by the American army in the 1980s as a universal replacement for jeeps and light trucks. The M998 Cargo and Troop Carrier version serves to carry people and cargo and bears no armament. The vehicle with its all-wheel drive and unusually wide track became famous for its deployment in the Persian Gulf and became a symbol of the American army of the 1990s and of later conflicts.
Wash the resin parts with warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off and sand the marks down; protect your airways while sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and with larger surfaces roughening the joint will help. Finish the chassis and the interior before the body is seated. For color, overall NATO green, three-color NATO camouflage or desert sand fits; complete the matte surface with a dust wash and pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
