A resin boarding ladder for the Su-57 in 1:72 scale from LP Models adds pilot access equipment to a model of this modern fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate resin casting of a boarding ladder intended for a model of the Su-57 in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for aircraft models; the aircraft itself is not included in the package. For a modeler it is the quickest way to add a feature to a finished machine that is almost never missing from photographs of a parked aircraft.
The Su-57 is a modern twin-engine fighter whose airframe is shaped for a reduced radar signature. The cockpit sits high above the ground, so a mobile ladder is wheeled up to the fuselage. On a model such an accessory does two things at once: it gives the scene a sense of scale and hints at a story, because the aircraft is not merely on display, the crew is about to climb aboard. In 1:72 scale the ladder is large enough to be noticed at first glance, yet small enough not to overpower the model.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw and wet-sand the surface with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, or with epoxy. Paint over a filler primer; after the base shade pick out the edges with a dry brush and add a fine wash in the recesses. Dry-fit the ladder against the model so that the angle it leans at looks natural and the ladder stands on all its feet.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
