1:48 Mask Gloster Javelin FAW9/9R EXPERT (AIRFIX)

New Ware 1:48 Gloster Javelin FAW.9/9R EXPERT - masking templates

Self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape at the highest EXPERT level. That usually brings the most complete coverage - besides the outer glazing, the inner faces of the glazing, the wheel hubs and other small areas tend to be included. The masks are made by the Czech brand New Ware. The set is designed for the Airfix kit.

The real subject

The Gloster Javelin was a British twin-engine all-jet fighter with a delta wing, operated by the RAF from the mid-1950s as an all-weather interceptor. The FAW.9 version had an afterburner, and the FAW.9R in addition an in-flight refueling probe.

Use and tips

• Transfer the masks with tweezers onto a clean, degreased surface.
• Stick the inner glazing masks on before the cockpit is assembled.
• Spray in thin coats, so that paint does not creep under the edge of the tape.
• Take the mask off shortly after it dries, while the layer is still slightly flexible.

Who the set is for

• Demanding modelers who want maximum coverage with no cutting by hand.
• Builders of British postwar jets in 1:48 scale.

Paints, glue and the model itself are not included in the package.
