A set of waterslide decals from the Czech manufacturer ROP for a plastic model of the Japanese A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighter in 1:48 scale. The subject relates to the service of Rufe aircraft over the Solomon Islands. The product is an accessory for finishing your own model; it is not a model and not a kit.
The A6M2-N Rufe was a floatplane fighter derived from the carrier-borne Zero, fitted with one large central float and two smaller floats under the wings. In the area of the Solomon Islands, where there were no hard runways, it carried out defensive and escort duties straight from the water. The floats, however, reduced its speed and agility compared with the land-based version.
The surface for the decals should be smooth and glossy. Cut the motif out, soak it in lukewarm water and, once it releases, move it from the backing into place; squeeze out the remaining water. A softener and a setting solution help. Once dry, go over it with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
This is a set of decals, not an aircraft model. Paints, varnish and the model itself are not included in the package.
