The 1:48 North American F-86L decal sheet in Royal Thai Air Force colors is an accessory for a kit you already own, not a model. It concerns the interceptor version of the Sabre, nicknamed Sabre Dog.

The set holds waterslide decals for a model of the F-86L interceptor in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not a finished model, but an accessory for a model you buy separately. The sheet is focused on machines in the service of the Royal Thai Air Force.
The nickname Sabre Dog belongs to the interceptor branch of the Sabre family, that is to the F-86D version and the F-86L derived from it. It differs from the day fighters of the F-86F series at first glance: the nose is taken up by the radome and the air intake is moved below it. The armament consisted neither of cannons nor of machine guns, but of a retractable rocket tray extended from the fuselage. An engine with an afterburner gave the aircraft the performance needed for a rapid climb to the target. The F-86L variant added equipment for working with a ground control system and a modified wing leading edge. In the 1960s these machines reached several allied air forces, the Thai among them.
Interceptor Sabres tend to have a large part of the surface in bare metal, and that has a direct effect on applying decals. Metallic shades are glossy in themselves, but they tend to be sensitive to touch — before you start with the decals, fix them with clear, or marks from the brush and your fingers will stay behind. Soak the decal in lukewarm water, set it aside and wait until the backing gives. Fuselage bands running across rows of rivets are best pressed down with a damp cloth and then gone over with a decal softener so that they settle into the engraved lines. Under the radome and at the edges of panels, work with as little water as possible so that the decal does not slip. Choose a semi-gloss clear coat at the end — matte would suppress the metallic character of the surface.
