Oak foliage 1:48 from the Czech maker Hauler is a scenic accessory for building trees, bushes and a leaf cover in a diorama; it is not a kit nor a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains foliage in the shape of an oak leaf in 1:48 scale. It is used in building trees and bushes, for filling a crown on a wire armature and also as fallen leaves on the ground. It is not a model nor a kit but material for creating scenery. It is made by the Czech firm Hauler, which has long focused on small accessories for dioramas.
The most frequent mistake with model trees is the use of ground material or foam sponge, which from close up looks like a shapeless green mass. As soon as the foliage has the recognizable shape of a particular species, the tree gains scale and the viewer subconsciously estimates its size. An oak is moreover a broadleaf with a pronounced, easily recognized leaf, so the difference shows at once.
Paint the foliage before separating it, best by spraying from both sides, and use several shades of green, so that the crown does not read flat. For an autumn scene reach for ocher, brown and rusty tones and mix the shades. Separate the leaves with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and glue them to the twigs with a small drop of cyanoacrylate or thin PVA glue. With foliage in a metal version it is advisable to apply a thin primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and the structure of the tree are not included in the package.
