1:48 Instrument panel for the P-38H from Yahu Models is a ready-made color part for the cockpit of the twin-engine fighter. It replaces the plastic panel from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a model of the P-38H fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, but a single finished part in color that is glued in place of the plastic instrument panel from the box. This spares the modeler the most laborious part of the interior, namely painting the individual dials and their bezels. The panel is ready for immediate fitting and needs neither paints nor decals.
The P-38H was one of the wartime production versions of the Lightning. The development of this type moved on mainly in the powerplants and their cooling, which affected performance at high altitude. For the modeler it matters that the individual versions differ from each other in details, including the equipment of the cockpit. Choosing a panel matching a particular version is therefore more accurate than using a universal part from the box.
Work dry until you are sure of the position. The pilot's nacelle is narrow and the new panel has to sit fully home, otherwise the fuselage will not close. Thin the original plastic part down by sanding from behind, or replace it entirely. Apply the glue in a minimal amount with the tip of a pin along the edges, as the print is easily damaged by glue. Once it is dry, a drop of clear gloss varnish can be put into the dials. We recommend going through the rest of the interior at the same time, because a finished panel raises the bar and simply painted walls then look unfinished.
The accessory is supplied finished and in color. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
