Montex - a masking set for the P-40N Warhawk in 1:48 scale - self-adhesive die-cut templates for a precise spray finish on the cabin and the markings of the last large-production version of the P-40.
Responsibility details are not available.
Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Polish brand Montex will save hours of work when painting a model of the P-40N in 1:48 scale. The precise templates cover the cabin glazing and other areas, and the range also allows for spraying the national insignia instead of using decals - the result is a uniform surface with no silvering, which will take subsequent weathering as well. Note that this is not a kit but an accessory for painting one; the masks are designed for a particular model, so check compatibility with your kit.
The P-40N was the last large-production version of the Curtiss P-40 fighter. The designers lightened it so that it would achieve better performance with the Allison V-1710 engine, and they reworked the glazing behind the cabin for a better view to the rear for the pilot. The machine served in the Pacific, in Asia and in the Mediterranean, and under Allied aid it also flew with the British Commonwealth under the designation Kittyhawk Mk.IV.
Degrease the surface underneath, transfer the mask with tweezers and smooth it down from the center toward the edges. Spray light layers with an airbrush, always toward the edge of the mask, not under it. Once the paint has dried, take the masks off carefully; any microscopic run can be removed with a toothpick or a gentle polishing.
A masking accessory - the model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
