This decal sheet from HGW imitates the grain of pine wood on the wooden surfaces of models. The drawing of the growth rings matches 1:48 scale. The version is transparent, so the final shade of the wood is decided by the color of the base under the decal. The designation NO GRID means that the artwork is not divided by a regular grid but forms larger continuous areas of wood.

What the sheet offers

A transparent imitation of pine wood in large-format segments. Thanks to the transparency, the base color can be used to control the final tone, and even to tell the individual panels apart by using different shades of base (white, cream, yellow). A new backing film with a white reverse does not distort the final shade.

Use

• First spray the base color, which will decide the final tone of the wood.
• Trim the segment, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and transfer it onto the surface.
• Once dry, seal it with a matte or semi-gloss coat.
