The masking set for the road wheels of the T-55 tank in 1:48 scale is intended for postwar wheels with a star-shaped division of the disc. The set is cut for the Tamiya kits.

The set serves for masking while painting; it is not a kit or replacement wheels. The masks cover the areas of the road wheels that are to stay in a different shade after spraying. The shape follows particular parts, so the set is listed for the Tamiya kits.
The postwar tank follows on from the older Soviet solution, but the running gear is legibly different. Here too there are five large wheels on each side, a conspicuous gap between the first and the second and no return rollers, except that the wheel itself has a markedly divided disc with star-shaped ribbing and lightening holes. Those pressings change the whole job: the edge of the tire band runs around the circumference, but the surface beneath it is not smooth, so a mask has to seat on a shaped surface and the paint has more places to try to run through. At the same time the division of the disc is what tells a postwar tank from the wartime types at first glance, so it pays not to flood it with paint and to pick it out with a light dust effect once it is unmasked. The drive sprocket is at the rear, the idler wheel at the front.
Before masking, compare the masks with the wheels from the sprue, so you know what part of the disc they will seat on. Wash the wheels in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them; with divided surfaces that goes double, because grease and sanding dust collect in the pressings. Apply a thin primer, which evens the absorbency out and gives a mask a better base on a shaped surface. Paint in thin coats and do not hurry; on a divided disc three light sprays are better than one generous one. Then assemble the chassis so that the wheels are painted and unmasked before the tracks go on them.
The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
