A resin casting of a small cable reel in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. An inconspicuous prop that is among the most universal diorama accessories of all; cable reels lie about on airfields, building sites, in stores and with signals units in practically every period from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present.
You can stand the reel upright or lay it on its side, prop it against the wall of a hangar or load it on the bed of a vehicle. It works splendidly paired with a figure handling it, or as part of the facilities of a field airfield beside boxes, drums and tools. Thanks to the timeless real subject it suits military as well as civilian scenes, from the Second World War to modern bases.
Wash the casting free of the mold release agent, cut any casting block off and sand the surface with fine abrasive paper. It can be painted with a brush: choose natural wooden or industrial tones according to the conception of the scene, and set the wound cable apart in a dark shade. A wash will bring the texture out, and drybrushing and a little pigment will add the wear of use.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
