A specialized set of pre-cut kabuki masks meant only for the engine exhaust nozzles of a model of the Sukhoi Su-34 in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft or a universal masking set for glazing — it is a narrowly aimed accessory that deals with one of the most laborious places on a model of a modern jet aircraft. The particular contents of the package are given in the enclosed instructions.
On jet aircraft the exhaust nozzles are made up of regularly repeating segments, which tend to be told apart by color from the rest of the airframe — metallic shades, heat tinting, burnt metal. Cutting dozens of exact wedge masks by hand is immensely slow and the spacing almost never comes out right. Pre-cut kabuki masks do away with this work and above all guarantee that the individual segments will be regular.
First spray the nozzles with the base metallic shade and let it cure properly — metallics dry slowly and on a surface that has not fully cured a mask can leave an imprint. Only then lay the masks on, press them down and spray the contrasting shade. Lay metallic paints on a smooth base, stir them thoroughly and leave them to the end of the build, because they are harder to overspray. Take the masks off with tweezers at a sharp angle.
This is not a kit or a complete masking set for glazing. The package contains only masking templates for the nozzles. Before buying, check that the set matches your kit.
