Decals 1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe – Norway 1945 from the manufacturer Vingtor Decals. A separate sheet for marking a finished Spitfire model; it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with the subject of Mk.IXe Spitfires operating in Norway in 1945. The product is an accessory: it contains a sheet of decals, not plastic parts. You build the model from a kit of your own and mark it with this sheet. Vingtor Decals is a Norwegian brand that concentrates on aircraft connected with Norway and with Norwegian units.
The letter e in the designation aims neither at the engine nor at the airframe, but at the type of wing, that is at a different combination of armament from the earlier c wing. The difference is visible on a model in the layout of the covers and outlets on the upper surface of the wing. It therefore pays to check whether your kit matches precisely the Mk.IXe version; with Spitfires the individual sub-versions differ in small things that are easy to overlook.
The procedure is the classic one: the surface has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise air will be closed in under the decal and silvering will arise. Trim the motifs with a minimum margin, after soaking let the decal rest for a while on a paper towel and only then slide it onto the model. Round national insignia settle well when a thin layer of water with a drop of detergent is applied underneath; you will then be able to move them even after several seconds. Once everything has dried, work the edges in with a decal softener and cover them with a final clear coat in the degree of sheen you want.
This is an accessory for modelers. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
