Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory set in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a cockpit accessory: a casting of a US Air Force fighter pilot in period flight gear and an ejection seat matching the F-80 Shooting Star. The set replaces the simplified plastic parts from the kit and gives the cockpit both scale detail and a human reference.
The Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star was the first jet fighter put into large-scale service with the US Air Force. Pilots of that era wore a flying helmet, an oxygen mask, a safety harness and a life vest; on jet types the ejection seat became standard equipment in this period. Both the figure and the seat are based on this equipment.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, which removes the residue of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a knife, never break them off, and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); polystyrene cement does not hold on resin. Apply a primer before painting. The figure looks best when the shades are layered and the folds of the clothing are gently picked out. Finish the seat including the belts before you seat the pilot in it.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
