A set of resin figures of US Marine Corps helicopter pilots in 1:48 scale from the South Korean maker DEF Model. While most figures of airmen are made for 1:35 scale, this set aims at the popular quarter scale, in which a whole range of modern American helicopters is released - so you can add a crew to the model without compromises in the proportions.
The aviation arm of the US Marine Corps operates attack, transport and utility helicopters, and its pilots are among the most heavily tasked in American military aviation. The characteristic gear consists of a fire-resistant flight suit, a helmet with a visor and a survival vest with emergency equipment - details that the figures carry into 1:48 scale.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand them with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). In a small scale the base coat and fine shading are the key - treat the flight suits with acrylics, and a thin wash and a careful dry brush will bring out the details of the gear.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
