A resin set of Lewis Mk.I aircraft machine guns in the lightened form, 1:48 scale from GasPatch. The package holds four pieces for detailing kits of First World War aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an airplane model but a resin set of accessories. The package holds four pieces of the Lewis Mk.I aircraft machine gun in the so-called stripped form, that is without the cylindrical cooling jacket, as they were used on First World War aircraft. The parts serve to replace the simplified armament in plastic kits and to make it convincing.
The Lewis was a British air-cooled light machine gun. In the aircraft version the bulky cooling jacket was often removed, because the airflow in flight took care of cooling and the weapon became lighter. The Lewis was the typical defensive weapon of the observers of two-seat aircraft and also the armament of single-seat fighters.
The parts are cast in resin and are intended for more experienced modelers. Before gluing, wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting gates off carefully and bond the joints with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. We recommend toning and weathering the metal shades for a faithful steel look.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as resin parts. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
