A resin kit of the American battleship USS Virginia BB 13 in 1:700 scale from the Czech maker ROP. The model is intended for experienced modelers with experience of resin. The castings capture the characteristic silhouette of a pre-dreadnought with an unusual arrangement of the turrets.
USS Virginia was the lead ship of the class of pre-dreadnoughts of the same name, commissioned in 1906. She carried a mixed battery of four guns of twelve inches and eight guns of eight inches, and some of the smaller guns were mounted unusually, directly above the main turrets. The ship took part in the cruise of the Great White Fleet.
First wash any mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sprue gates and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model suits a base or a water surface (waterline). A primer and shades of naval gray are recommended, or a light hull finish matching the era of the Great White Fleet. Fine railings and fittings can be added with photo-etched parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
