Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit model of the Japanese light cruiser Jintsu in her fit of 1942 in 1:700 scale from Aoshima, from the Waterline series. The model is made as a waterline kit with the hull above the waterline and it captures the slender hull, the superstructures and the torpedo and gun armament of the ship.
The Jintsu was a Japanese light cruiser of the Sendai class. The ships of this class were built as flagships of destroyer flotillas, fast and well armed with torpedoes and light guns. The Jintsu took an active part in the fighting in the Pacific; she was sunk in the night Battle of Kolombangara in 1943. The 1942 rendering matches her fit from the first period of the war.
Seat the waterline hull on a flat base to keep the waterline accurate. Glue the fine parts of the superstructures, the guns and the torpedo tubes with a thin plastic cement. Typical gray shades with a darker deck suit Japanese ships; bring the panel lines and the decks to life with a fine wash effect, and the railings can be added from an aftermarket photo-etched set.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
