This add-on set from Fujimi holds sixteen Japanese carrier aircraft of the Suisei and Zuiun types in 1:700 scale. The miniature machines are meant for populating the flight decks and catapults of Japanese ship models — this is not a standalone aircraft kit but an add-on to a ship model.
The Suisei (Allied designation Judy) was a fast carrier dive bomber operating from aircraft carriers. The Zuiun (Allied designation Paul) was a reconnaissance floatplane also capable of dive bombing; it became known for its use from the catapults of the hybrid battleships Ise and Hyuga. The combination of both types therefore suits above all the later period of the war in the Pacific.
In 1:700 scale the aircraft are small — work with tweezers and a minimum of glue. Paint them before fitting: a dark green upper side and a light underside with prominent national insignia are typical. Sixteen pieces will do for a fully populated deck and leave some in reserve.
This is an add-on set — the ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package. The aircraft are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
