This product is neither a kit nor a finished model. It is a modeling accessory from Artwox Model: a sheet of self-adhesive masks whose shapes follow the deck surfaces of one specific kit, the S-Model PS700003. You stick the masks onto the plastic deck, cover everything that is not meant to be wood and then spray the deck. Once the masks come off, the wooden area is bounded exactly where it should end, with no laborious cutting of tape and no paint seeping under the edges.
In 1:700 scale the deck is full of small cutouts, hatches and the feet of the superstructure. Cutting them out of masking tape is possible, but it takes hours and every inaccurate cut shows on the finished model. A pre-cut template does away with that work and, above all, holds the same accuracy along the whole length of the hull.
Wash and degrease the plastic first, otherwise the adhesive of the masks will take badly. Let the base coat cure thoroughly, as fresh paint comes away with the mask. Lift the masks off the backing sheet in sections so that they do not curl, and lay them on dry first to check the fit. Press the edges down with a toothpick or a wooden stick so that nothing seeps under them. Spray in several thin coats and at low pressure; a heavy coat makes a step along the edge. Take the mask off while the paint has only gone off and pull it back over itself at an angle, not straight up.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. Paints, glue and the model itself are not included in the package. Before you buy, check that your kit matches the one the set is cut for.
