A set of sixteen turned metal barrels of 133 mm caliber of the QF Mk.1 type in 1:700 scale from the Aber brand replaces the plastic barrels of the dual-purpose battery of British ships.

Sixteen turned metal barrels in 1:700 scale matching the British dual-purpose gun of 133 mm caliber designated QF Mk.1. The set is meant to replace the plastic barrels on a model; it is not a kit of a ship. It is made by the Polish brand Aber, which specializes in turned and etched modeling parts.
The 133 mm QF Mk.1 gun was a British dual-purpose gun, that is a weapon able to fire at surface and air targets alike. In twin turrets it made up the secondary and anti-aircraft battery of British battleships and the main armament of light anti-aircraft cruisers. Sixteen barrels match exactly the full complement of eight twin turrets as the large units of the Royal Navy of the Second World War period carried them.
Dual-purpose guns are usually spread along both sides of a model, so it pays to work systematically turret by turret and to keep checking that the barrels are at the same elevation. Cut off the plastic barrel, level the surface and drill a hole for the pin. Fix the metal part with a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Degrease the brass with alcohol before painting and go over it with a primer for metal. On anti-aircraft armament a gentle picking out of the muzzle in a darker shade works well.
This is an accessory set for a model, not a kit of a ship. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
