The submarines of Type VII B were among the early production versions of the most widespread German submarine series of the Second World War. They were marked out by a greater range than Type VII A and became the backbone of the submarine fleet in the Battle of the Atlantic. U-48 was one of the most successful boats of this series.
Glue the small parts and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, the plastic with liquid cement for plastic. In a small scale thin coats of paint from an airbrush, a fine wash on the decks and the superstructure and restrained drybrushing stand out. The model and the dock together make a rewarding display case scene: finish the base of the dock separately and set the submarine in place only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
