This is a set of 2 turned metal barrels for the American naval gun of 127 mm (5 inch) caliber in the updated 62 calibers length version, the Mark 45 type, in 1:700 scale. It is not a kit but an accurate replacement part (a detail set) from the Polish manufacturer MASTER with which you replace the plastic barrels from the box. The longer, slender barrel with its sharp muzzle stands out above all in a small scale.
The updated version of the Mark 45 gun with the barrel lengthened to 62 calibers serves on the newest destroyers. The American Arleigh Burke class, the Korean KDX II class and the Japanese Kongo class all carry it. A set of two barrels covers models with one turret of this gun.
Cut off the original plastic barrels and clean up the seating face. Glue the metal barrels on with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer for metal. A metal barrel also survives handling better than a thin plastic part.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
