Masking sheets for the deck of the battleship Montana in 1:700 scale from Artwox Model bound the deck surfaces during spraying and protect their surroundings from overspray. This is an accessory for a model, not a kit.

Artwox Model supplies ready-made masking cutouts matching the shape of the decks of the battleship Montana in 1:700 scale. The cut is based on one specific kit, the Very Fire VF700901. The product contains neither a model nor paints; it serves solely to let the deck surface be sprayed with a clean edge.
On large battleships the deck makes up most of the visible surface, and the boundary between it and the side walls of the superstructure runs across dozens of curves, feet and barbettes. That is exactly where most mistakes happen in masking by hand: the tape kinks on a curve, gaps are left between the individual strips and paint creeps under. A continuous cutout removes that problem, because there is one edge and it is smooth.
First spray the lighter of the two colors and let it dry; what gets masked is always what is already done. Lay the sheet on loosely, check the coverage around the superstructure and only then press it down. Seal the edges with your fingernail or a smooth wooden stick and run the first pass lightly and at right angles to the edge so that it closes the seam. Apply the full covering coat only after that. Overspray from the surroundings can be touched up with a fine brush once the mask comes off, but doing it right the first time is less work.
An accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check the match with your kit before you buy.
