312th Squadron RAF, Part IV is the fourth part of a decal series in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AML Decals, focused on the aircraft of No. 312 (Czechoslovak) Fighter Squadron RAF.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for modelers who want to build a specific machine of No. 312 (Czechoslovak) Fighter Squadron RAF. The set brings two color options completed by color drawings showing the placing of the national insignia, the identification letters and additional lettering. It is an addition to a model, not a kit.
From the autumn of 1940 No. 312 Squadron took part in the defense of Britain, and in the following years it moved to offensive duties over the English Channel and the occupied continent. Re-equipping from Hurricanes to Spitfires brought a change of color schemes and markings, so the machines of a single unit visibly differed over the course of the war. That is exactly what makes the successive parts of this range an interesting source for modelers who want to capture the development of the unit.
Apply them to a gloss, well cured finish and work in good light, so that the true position of the identification letters is visible. Cut the decal out close to the motif, soak it in warm water and let it rest for a moment before transferring it, so that the film releases. A decal softener helps on curved surfaces and around the access hatches, while on flat panels pressing with a damp cloth is enough. Once dry, fix it with a matte varnish and only then add washes in the engraving or exhaust streaks.
Decals are a modeling addition. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
