1:72 Adam A700 is a short-run plastic kit of the very light jet aircraft derived from the composite A500 type, from the manufacturer Amodel.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the Adam A700, the jet version of the all-composite aircraft of the American firm Adam Aircraft. The model is in short-run injection-molded plastic from the Amodel brand. The build calls for care and filling, and in return it is a subject that in 1:72 scale has practically no alternative.
The A700 was based on the design of the piston-engined A500 and was conceived as a very light jet aircraft, that is a machine of the category which at the turn of the millennium promised to open jet flying up to smaller operators. It kept the all-composite construction, the pressurized cabin and the pair of tail booms, but the piston engines were replaced by a pair of small turbofan engines placed on the sides of the rear fuselage. The prototype flew from 2003, but the type never completed the certification process and the program ended with the end of the firm in 2008.
The seating of the tail booms and the engine nacelles is crucial. Assemble on a flat surface, keep checking the symmetry and glue only after a dry test. Fill and sand the seams, as a composite surface has neither rivets nor deep panels, so every imperfection shows once the finish is on. Apply a filler primer, sand it back gently and spray the base color in thin coats. The intakes and the engine outlets deserve a darker shade inside and cleanly bounded edges. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and keep the weathering to a minimum.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
