Cut self-adhesive parts for covering the glazing of the American attack helicopter in 1:72. They follow the cockpit framing and are applied from outside.
Responsibility details are not available.
Development of the AH-64 helicopter began after the previous ambitious project turned out to be too expensive. The prototype first rose into the air in September 1975, but the machine entered service only in the middle of the 1980s. It differs from the Cobra at first glance: it has two engines placed at the sides, a bulkier fuselage and a cockpit made up of flat panes whose edges give the whole machine its characteristic angular look. Under the nose a 30 mm cannon moves, linked to the movements of the gunner's head, and anti-armor missiles and rocket launchers hang on the stub wing pylons. The machine had its combat baptism over Panama and in the Persian Gulf.
The flat panes of the cockpit invite masking with tape, but the frames meet in sharp points and a hand cut seldom comes out accurately there. The shapes from this set have their edges finished and only need seating in place. The target is the 1:72 model by the brand Hobby Boss; on another brand's product the dimensions of the panes would not agree. The outer surface of the glazing is masked, so you cover the inside of the panes depending on how deeply you have detailed the cockpit. On this type it pays to leave the inner side free, because the instrument panel and the seats are clearly visible through the flat glass.
The sharp point of a frame is the most sensitive place, so press it down with a fingernail or a smooth tool after applying. Lead the paint from the middle of the pane toward the edge. When the work is done, take the shapes off and even out any glossy transition with matte varnish. There is only masking material in the package.
