Eduard 1:72 Avro Shackleton MR.3 landing flaps — a photo-etched set of landing flaps for the model of the British maritime patrol aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the plastic landing flaps of the model of the Avro Shackleton MR.3 in 1:72 scale with detailed photo-etched parts with a faithful internal structure. Lowered flaps are a prominent feature on large multi-engine machines; on the apron they were often to be seen open, and a model with them looks far more alive.
The Avro Shackleton was a British maritime patrol and anti-submarine aircraft of the beginning of the 1950s, following on in design from the famous Lancaster and Lincoln bombers. Power came from four Rolls-Royce Griffon engines with contra-rotating propellers, whose sound became a legend. Among other things the MR.3 version differed in its nose landing gear and redrawn wingtips with additional tanks.
Bend the long flap parts in a photo-etch bender or over a steel ruler so that the bends are straight along their whole length. Glue the ribs one by one with a minimum of cyanoacrylate glue and keep checking that they are square. Before painting, degrease the parts and use a primer; the interior of the flaps is brought to life by a fine wash.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
