This item is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory set for modelers. It contains resin wheel castings that will replace the plastic landing gear parts from the base kit. The tires are shaped with the deformation caused by the load of the aircraft, so once set on its base the finished model looks as if it really stood on its wheels rather than merely touching them. The type b designation sets the set apart from the differently executed variant in the same range, which Armory offers under its own part number.
The BAC TSR.2 was a British twin-engined strike and reconnaissance aircraft of the first half of the 1960s. It was designed for very fast flight at low altitude and its development was among the most technically ambitious British programs of its day. Only the prototype flew, and the program was ended in 1965. The landing gear of the aircraft was exceptionally sturdy, with a pair of wheels arranged on the main legs, because operation from less well-prepared surfaces was envisaged.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry: residues of mold release agent otherwise prevent the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a knife and level the seating surface with sanding paper; sand wet for preference and do not breathe in the resin dust. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate, not with plastic cement. Before spraying, check that both wheels touch the base across the whole deformed area and that the model does not stand crooked. The hub is most easily separated with a circular mask or with liquid mask applied to the tire.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit of the aircraft. It is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
