A plastic kit in 1:72 scale that joins a model of a light antitank gun with figures of the crew in uhlan dress. The maker First to Fight concentrates on the equipment and kit of the 1939 campaign, and its sets are built as small subjects that can be assembled quickly.
The 37 mm antitank gun of Swedish Bofors design was produced under license in several countries in the second half of the 1930s, Poland among them. It was light and low, it was easily concealed in terrain and the crew could move it even without a tractor. The penetrating power of its rounds matched the armor of the light tanks and armored cars of the first half of the war. Cavalry regiments had antitank guns in their organic armament, so joining the weapon with a crew in uhlan uniforms makes sense for the period.
The parts of the gun are very small at this scale, so work with a sharp knife, over a surface and with tweezers. Assemble the carriage dry and only then glue it, so that the model stands straight. Paint the figures separately before fitting them to a base; in 1:72 scale a base shade, a dark wash into the folds and a fine accenting of the edges are enough. The whole comes into its own on a small base with grass or a field track, where the gun and the crew make up a single scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
