AML painting masks for the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI in the late form, 1:72 scale — quick and accurate spraying of the camouflage of the heavy twin-engine fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer AML for spraying the camouflage onto a model of the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI heavy fighter in the late form, in 1:72 scale. Why masks instead of hand painting? An edge drawn by hand between two shades almost always gives itself away in a small scale, by a shaky line, by an uneven width of the transition, or by a pattern that does not sit mirrored on both halves of the wing. The masks remove those risks: the pattern is drawn out by the manufacturer and all you do is spray.
The Bristol Beaufighter was created using the design of the Beaufort bomber as a rugged twin-engine aircraft with Hercules radial engines and heavy gun armament in the nose and the wing. The Mk.VI version served both with night fighter squadrons equipped with radar and with units operating over the sea; the late aircraft differed in modifications to the airframe including tailplanes with dihedral. The bulky engine nacelles and the angular nose make the Beaufighter a rewarding model, but a broken one to paint.
For modelers who do not want to risk asymmetrical camouflage on a twin-engine aircraft. The Beaufighter masks come in several releases according to the target kit, so before you buy we recommend checking which model the masks line up with.
