A pair of scale Browning .30 caliber aircraft machine guns in a flexible mount, 1:72 scale. Replacement parts for an aircraft model; the model itself is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Browning of .30 inch caliber, that is 7.62 mm, was among the most widely used American aircraft machine guns. The word flexible describes the mounting: the weapon sits on a swivel pin or on a ring mount and the gunner aims it by hand. That is how it differs from fixed machine guns, which are aimed forward and are turned by turning the whole aircraft. Guns mounted this way are found in observers' positions, in rear gun stations and at side windows.
According to the name there are two pieces in the package in 1:72 scale. The pair covers either two separate stations or a twin mounting on one cradle; alternatively the second piece stays as a spare, because a part of this size is easily lost. Whether a mount, a sight or a belt feed is included as well is shown by the manufacturer's illustration.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models has no effect on them; use super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that the blade does not slip into the fine shape of the barrel. Work with tweezers over a tray with a rim so that a part that springs away does not end up on the floor. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and cover them with a primer. The exact preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
