C-130 Hercules - masking set 1:72 (Artillery models)

A set of pre-cut masks intended for a model of the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not a resin accessory: in the package are masks which are stuck onto the glazing and onto other areas that are to stay clean after spraying. The target kit is Italeri.

The real subject

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing and a rear cargo ramp. It originated in the middle of the 1950s and in various versions serves to this day in dozens of countries, from classic cargo and airborne transport through air-to-air refueling and search and rescue duties to firefighting use. The model has extensive cockpit glazing with a great many frames, whose painting out by hand with a brush is lengthy and the result uneven.

Use

• lift the mask carefully off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel
• seat it on a clean and degreased clear part and press it down along the edges with a toothpick
• cover the remaining areas with masking tape or liquid mask
• spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge of the mask
• take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, not days later

Who the set is for

The set suits modelers who are building a large transport aircraft in 1:72 scale and want clean sharp cockpit frames without hours of work with a brush. The masks are cut for a particular kit of this aircraft in the given scale; before buying, therefore, check that it corresponds to the model you are building.

The package contains masks, not a model. The kit, paints and varnishes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
