New Ware C-54D Skymaster masks 1:72 BASIC

Accurately cut self-adhesive painting masks of thin washi (kabuki) tape for a model of the C-54D Skymaster in 1:72 scale. The BASIC level covers the cockpit glazing, for painting the frames and the sealant cleanly. The masks go on before spraying, they protect the glazing and further areas, and once the paint is dry they come away cleanly. This is not a model but an accessory for painting.

The real subject

The Douglas C-54D Skymaster is the military transport version of the DC-4. The four-engine transport made its name among other things on large-scale airlift tasks, for instance the Berlin Airlift.

Use

Peel the mask carefully off the backing sheet, lay it on a clean surface and press the edges down firmly so that paint cannot get underneath. Spray thin coats and remove the mask before the paint has dried completely, for a sharp edge. Washi tape leaves no adhesive residue once lifted.
