An injection-molded plastic kit of the French twin-engined Caudron C-445 Goéland in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models. It is a short-run kit, which usually comes with clear parts for the cabin and decals for several marking options. The model comes as a plastic molding; glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
The Caudron C-440 Goéland (seagull) was a French twin-engined all-wood aircraft of the middle of the 1930s, meant for carrying passengers, for liaison flights and for training. The production C-445 version saw wide service: it served with French airlines and with the Armée de l'Air, the French air force; during the Second World War the Luftwaffe used it extensively as a liaison and training machine, and it flew with other operators as well. The elegant retractable undercarriage and the roomy cabin for several passengers made it a typical representative of European transport aviation of the prewar era.
With a short-run kit patience pays off - try the parts dry first and sand and clean up the joints if needed. Paint the cabin interior before gluing the fuselage together, because it is visible through the glazing. Mask the glazing carefully. Use thin cement on the plastic, prime the surfaces and spray with an airbrush. The twin-engined layout calls for accurate seating of the engine nacelles and the propellers. Unify the final surface with a coat according to whether you are building the glossy civil or the matte military version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
