Decals for the DC-3 and Li-2 in Malév colors, two finish variants, 1:72 from the Hungarian brand HAD models are a sheet of waterslide decals in the colors of the Hungarian airline Malév. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from HAD models with the markings of the Douglas DC-3 airliner and its Soviet license-built counterpart the Lisunov Li-2 in the colors of the Hungarian airline Malév. The sheet offers two finish variants, so two differently conceived machines can be built from it. It is meant to supplement or replace the decals from the box.
The Douglas DC-3 is a twin-engine low-wing monoplane with radial engines and a tailwheel, which became one of the most widespread airliners in history. The Lisunov Li-2 is its Soviet license-built counterpart, adapted for local production methods and dimensional standards, with different engines and a range of airframe details. The Hungarian Malév operated both types in the postwar decades on domestic and international routes, and their finishes changed over time.
A civil finish tends to be glossy, so the surface under the decals has to be smooth and free of grain. First spray a metallic or white foundation, let it cure and go over it with gloss clear coat. Lay the long lines along the fuselage down over a thin film of water and line them up against the engraved lines rather than by eye. Go over the dried decals with gloss clear coat, and the edges will then disappear. With airliners, hold back on the weathering, as exaggerated grime looks unconvincing on a scheduled machine.
This is a sheet of decals in its own right, not a kit. The model, paints, varnishes and softeners are not included in the package.
