A finished collector model of the F-84G jet fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from the maker Easy Model. The model comes assembled and painted from the factory, including the applied national insignia, codes and personal markings on the nose. It is not a kit; nothing is glued, filled or sprayed.
The F-84G was the ultimate version of the straight-wing Thunderjet line. This single-engine aircraft with a turbojet in the fuselage was used above all as a fighter-bomber, that is for attacks on ground targets with bombs and unguided rockets. Characteristic features were the large wingtip tanks, which extended its range, and the ability to refuel in flight. The G version was committed in the closing phase of the fighting in Korea and afterward European air forces received it in large numbers.
Models with the personal markings of a crew are popular in collections, because they offer something an ordinary service finish does not. The inscription and the colored elements are applied in production, so the risk of damaging decals during application falls away. The metallic surface of the front of the fuselage is sensitive to fingerprints, so it is better to take the model by the fuselage from below or to use cotton gloves. Dust stands out more on glossier surfaces than on matte ones, so count on regular dusting with a soft brush.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. You need no glue, paints or tools for it. An enclosed display case out of direct sunlight is recommended.
