A set of cut self-adhesive Peewit masks for a model of the British carrier-based aircraft Fairey Gannet AEW.3 in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for a clean coat on the frames of the cockpit canopy and other glazed surfaces. The masks follow the shape of the frames of a particular kit exactly.
The Fairey Gannet AEW.3 was a British carrier-based airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft of the Royal Navy. Under the fuselage it carried a prominent radome with a search radar and it was powered by the twin Double Mamba turboprop powerplant. It entered service in 1959 and served from the decks of aircraft carriers until the end of the 1970s.
Apply the masks to a clean, degreased, dry surface and press their edges down well so that paint does not bleed underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, best of all with an airbrush at lower pressure. Mask the glazed cockpit carefully and press the masks into the corners of the frames. Lift the masks while the paint is still fresh, so that they do not tear off a dried coat.
This is a masking set, not a model. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
